Approximately one in every one thousand babies in the UK is born w ith Down’s syndrome. Currently 90% of women in the UK, who know their child will be born with this condition decide to terminate the pregnancy. The number of abortions for Down’s syndrome is on the rise, and there are concerns that a new, highly accurate diagnostic test may lead to even more terminations. The Non – Invasive Prenatal Testing is now being used privately to identify babies with Down’s and the Government has confirmed it will be made available on the NHS from this year.  Down’s syndrome advocacy groups claim this could make abortions even more likely. …. To keep it or not? This documentary tells the stories of 2 mothers, whose children were born with Down’s syndrome, and the choices they made. Here’s how Lesley Low from Boston, Lincolnshire found out her daughter had Down’s.
